RCB College Tuition and Refund
Once RCB College confirms that admission standards are met, it may enter into a contract with the student and charge a registration and application fee of up to $500. If the student terminates the contract within four business days of signing, the RCB College must refund all tuition fees paid. This ensures transparency and fairness in the enrollment process, safeguarding the interests of prospective students.
Tuition Refunds
RCB College must issue refunds within 30 days. Refund deductions depend on:
- College Policies: Check the student handbook
- Legal Jurisdiction: Some areas allow colleges to offset refunds against owed debts.
- Type of Refund: Tuition over payments may be handled differently than other fees.
- Communication: Discuss with the financial office if you owe money but expect a refund.
- Legal Recourse: If you believe a refund is unjustly withheld, you might have legal options.
Cooling-off Period
You can cancel your contract within four days of signing by providing written notice to RCB College. Keep a copy of your notice. You will receive a full refund, including any application fee.
Full Refund After Signing Contract
If you withdraw before the registration deadline or if a course change alters your registration status, no fees are charged. Registration deadlines are given when you apply. The cooling-off period ensures a full refund.
Before Class Begins:
If a student terminates their contract after the registration deadline, RCB College is entitled to tuition fees as per Section 17 of the Private Vocational Training Regulation, as follows:
- Terminate the contract before classes start: Full refund of tuition.
- College terminates the contract before classes start: Full refund of tuition.
After Class Begins:
If a student contract is terminated after the class begins, the College is entitled to the following amounts of tuition:
- 10% or less of the course completed: 25% of tuition charged.
- 10-50% of the course completed: 60% of tuition charged.
- More than 50% of the course completed: 100% of tuition charged.
Refund Payment
International Students Unable to Get a Student Visa
If you are an international student unable to obtain a student visa, you are entitled to a refund of fees paid, provided you deliver written notice to RCB College before half of the program has passed. The $500 registration fee is fully refundable. **All tuition costs are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Withdrawals
Students are considered withdrawn in three circumstances:
Voluntary Withdrawal: Due to personal reasons, health issues, financial challenges, or other reasons.
Involuntary Withdrawal: Due to failure to meet academic standards, code of conduct violations, non-payment of fees, or attendance issues.
Extended Absence: Extended periods of non-attendance without informing RCB College.
The students status must be reported to IRCC (Immigration & Refugee Citizenship Canada). To withdraw, students must complete and sign a withdrawal form available for download below.
Keep Your Documents Organized
For international students, maintaining and organizing your documents is crucial for a successful academic journey. Proper documentation ensures a smooth application process, helps in securing visas and permits, and provides proof of eligibility for various benefits and services.
Misplaced or incomplete documents can lead to delays, additional costs, and potential legal issues. Keeping a checklist and regularly updating your records can save time and prevent complications. Always have copies of important documents like your passport, visa, Letter of Acceptance, and academic transcripts readily available.
