Babysitting Training Course
Become a trained and certified babysitter. Learn leadership, caregiving basics and life-saving first aid skills.
The Babysitting course teaches youth essential skills to prevent and respond to emergencies. You learn how to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours, plus how to feed, diaper, dress and play with children and babies.
The course also covers making good decisions, managing complex behaviours, being responsible and showing leadership, children's developmental stages with strategies for each stage, first aid skills, and the business of babysitting, including how to promote yourself to families. Flexible scheduling is available, including virtual, instructor-led delivery.
7 to 8 hours, in person.
Minimum 11 years of age or completion of Grade 5. Please check provincial regulations.
Participants must attend and complete the full in-person course to receive their certificate.
